Giclée (pronounced zhee-klay) is a French word loosely defined as a “spray of some type of liquid.” In this case it is the spray of ink onto some type of substrate. Basically a very high-end inkjet printer. Developed around 1990 it has become the industry standard for fine art printing. The amount of detail that can be obtained along with the accuracy of the colors produces a print that is virtually indistinguishable from the original work of art. At Harris Art Company we use a state of the art Epson SureColor P9570 printer which is among the best in the industry. It’s 12 color ink system has been rated to last for over a hundred years without fading if properly cared for.

Most of our images are printed on both canvas, which can be stretched and framed like the original oil painting, or on archival paper which can be matted and framed to best suit the collector’s needs.
